Parson’s Page
Dear FCC Family,
A GIANT THANK YOU to Marcus Willis and CMF for hosting
the annual Pinelake Church Retreat this past weekend! What
a blessing to get away, to spend quality time with church
members and to be sore from football games and the paddle
boating! The meal again was sumptuous thanks to everyone
who brought a dish. Jerrell's venison roast was out of this
world as were the bass filets. Thank you Roy and Jean also
for helping to fry the fish!
A reminder that the November 11th Music for Missions
at the Grand Opera House Theatre is around the corner.
Tickets are available at the Merritt House ($30 donation to
PavingYourWay) and Theresa Andersson and her band will lift
your spirits with great tunes! We have limited space
available and I don't want you to miss this big event!
Money goes toward helping to build Christie's Castle in
Clarkdale and Westside Mission in New Orleans!
Doors open at 7:30pm - Casual Dress - Family Friendly
Event!
On November 3-5, we will be meeting in Shreveport for
the Great River Regional Assembly with church members from
Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. I will be leading a
workshop on becoming a Missional Church using FCC as a
model. Ed Owen will be helping me and sharing his story of
his vocational mission following Katrina in Meridian, Long
Beach and New Orleans. Robin and Joe Johnson and Ed Owen
will be our Delegates for voting and representation. We
need others to go with us! Information is at the Merritt
House!
On November 19th, the downtown churches are hosting
the Thanksgiving Worship service at 6pm at St. Paul's
Episcopal Church! We have planned a super service including
testimonies, children's music and more! Put it on your
calendar and join the ONE CHURCH!
See you Sunday!
Love,
Parson
