Dear FCC Family,

MUSIC FOR MISSIONS: November 11 to support missions
with PavingYourWay! Join others at the newly restored Grand
Opera House for an evening with Tommy Sikes and Theresa
Andersson (New Orleans best acoustic singer award). A
donation to PavingYourWay of $30 gets you a ticket for a
great night! We have 200 seats left.

REGIONAL ASSEMBLY: I have been asked to lead a workshop
at the November Great River Regional Assembly in Shreveport
on BECOMING A MISSIONAL CHURCH using our model. It will be
an honor to share what our church is doing, being and
saying! I would love to have a few members to go with me to
share their story of missional experiences at home and
abroad.
THIS SUNDAY: This Sunday we will be a message on
"Children of Divorce" that I hope will be beneficial to
people of all ages. If you know of someone who is divorced,
invite them to church this Sunday. Below is the text from
Mark 10: Then in the house the disciples asked him again
about this matter. 11He said to them, “Whoever divorces his
wife and marries another commits adultery against her;
12and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she
commits adultery.” 13People were bringing little children
to him in order that he might touch them; and the disciples
spoke sternly to them. 14But when Jesus saw this, he was
indignant and said to them, “Let the little children come
to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that
the kingdom of God belongs. 15Truly I tell you, whoever
does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will
never enter it.” 16And he took them up in his arms, laid
his hands on them, and blessed them.

Ponderings
An old dollar bill and an even older $20 arrive at a
Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. “I’ve had a pretty good
life,” the $20 says. “I’ve been to Vegas, the finest
restaurants in New York and even on a Caribbean cruise.”
“You did have an exciting life!” the dollar says.
“Where have you been?” the $20 asks.
“Oh, I’ve been to the Methodist church, the Baptist church,
spent some time with the Lutherans—“
“Wait,” the $20 interrupts. “What’s a church?”
