Parson’s Page
Dear FCC Family,
October is here! We have three big events in the life
of the church this month!
October 21: Bonita Lake Heart Walk (9am to 11:30am)
FCC members are coordinating this countywide event! The
director of the American Heart Association is our own
Jennifer Purvis and handling the logistics are Bill Barham,
Rick Courtney, and yours truly. Al Brown is doing a radio
remote at the event too! We have a team that is led by Jeri
Holdiness and we need some more teammates. Walk from 9am to
11am and if you raise $2000 we will raffle off a cruise for
two to the Bahamas thanks to the American Heart
Association! Can you be one of the teammates? Please hurry
and let us know!
October 21-22: Pinelake Churchwide Retreat in West
Meridian at the Mennonite Camp (Saturday Noon to Sunday
night)
Paddleboating, fishing, frisbee golf, football, basketball,
relaxing in the shade, campfires, lakeside worship and
communion, fish fry, wild game supper, camping and more!
Sponsored by the Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF: Marcus
Willis, President). We have the camp from Saturday noon to
Sunday night! The fish fry is Sunday afternoon!
October 29: Halloween Carnival at FCC for Youth Missions
Imagine every adult and youth dressed in costume, eating
the good foods, doing the games and cake walk, and the FEAR
FACTOR upstairs! All proceeds go to helping our Youth
Program and their mission trips to Children's Homes with
the Southern Christian Services! See Bill Autry for
details!
See you Sunday!
Love,
Tom "Parson" Sikes
