Parson’s Page Dear FCC Family, When people are visiting our church what are they seeking a. Vibrant worship of Jesus Christ b. A clean nursery with friendly trustworthy staff c. A warm congregation that opens its arms to strangers d. People to remember them when they come back In other words, people seek a place where they can belong. Every Sunday worship service doubles as an outreach event! We have visitors every Sunday and it is our chance to BE a FAMILY for them. Hospitality to strangers was a key to the growth of the early church. They went from 120 to thousands because they welcomed new additions. Then they fed the poor, preached the good news, and broke bread regularly. Read Acts 2! So let's continue with our outreach on Sunday mornings. First, park away from the church to give our guests and those who cannot walk well an easier entrance. Then be the first to say 'hello' and at the passing of the peace, look for a visitor around you! Let's be the warmest congregation in the city! Love and Laughter, Tom Sikes 'Parson' The Flowers Sunday are given to the glory of God and in remembrance of the love shared by William and Jo Ann Apperson on this the Sunday prior to their wedding anniversary. Youth Groups On Sunday, Sept. 10th, the Chi Rho and CYF youth groups will begin meeting together. The first meeting will be at the home of Bill Autry. A different family will host the group each Sunday evening. The focus will be on Bible study, fellowship and mission. We will be asking church families to host as they are able. The purpose of the Christian Youth Fellowship of First Christian Church is to serve God and help others to come to know Christ through mission work, being positive examples to others and living a Christian lifestyle.
